Cookies and measurement
Cookies are small records a website leaves in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. We use the others only if you allow them, when you first open the site, and you can change that choice whenever you like.
Necessary
Always on. Without them the site would not work properly.
- wordpress_logged_in and wordpress_sec: keep the family and the funeral home logged in.
- wp-postpass: opens a page the family protected with a password.
- vlj_b2b: remembers the code for the page for funeral homes in our region, 30 days.
- vlj_ok: remembers your cookie choice, six months.
Measuring visits
Google Analytics counts visits and shows which pages people read and where they come from, for example from a Google search or from a post. This tells us what is clear and what needs fixing.
- _ga and _ga_ with a code: Google Analytics, up to two years.
- vlj_src1 and vlj_src2: our cookies that remember where you first and last came to the site from, 90 days. With an order, this shows us which post or ad brought you.
Marketing
Cookies of Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (Google Ads) and TikTok. They show whether an ad brought someone to the site and to an order, so that ads reach the people they can help, not everyone.
- _fbp and _fbc: Meta, three months.
- _gcl_au: Google Ads, three months.
- _ttp and _tt_enable_cookie: TikTok, up to 13 months.
What the platforms receive
If you allow marketing, Meta and TikTok learn that you viewed a page, clicked Order or sent a question, and when you send an order and pay, also the amount, the order number and your details from the form: email, phone, name, city and country. We send the email, phone, name and city encrypted (hashed), so the platform can only match them with its own users and cannot read them. Google Analytics receives the amount and the order number, without your details.
We never send anything about the person the page is dedicated to: not the name, not the dates, not the religion and customs, not the memories. The family pages and the accounts of families and funeral homes are not measured, and neither are logged in users.
The visit counter for the family
On a memorial page we count visits, so the family can see how many people opened the page, from which countries and how they got there (for example from Facebook or a message). We use no cookies for this and keep neither your address nor your name. We know the country from the time zone of the phone. So that the same person is not counted several times, the server keeps a short, encrypted fingerprint of the address and the browser at most until the next day, and then deletes it. The family sees only the totals.
How to change your choice
Click Change your cookie choice at the top of this page. You can always reach it through the Cookies link at the bottom of the site. You can also delete cookies in the settings of your browser. More about how we keep data is in the Privacy policy.
